Pupuke Birdsong Project

At Pupuke Birdsong Project, we're all about bringing our community together, celebrating our backyard biodiversity, and looking out for our precious taonga in the region.

Here's what we do: We organise park care groups, arrange fun planting and weeding sessions, and get everyone involved in keeping backyard pests in check. Plus, we've got free traps and bait for our neighbours, so they can join in on the action and help protect our native wildlife.

When people jump in and become part of our team, they become guardians of our local parks and reserves. It's all about rolling up your sleeves and getting hands-on. You'll be helping out our native species flourish, and you'll leave a lasting mark on the environment for generations to come.

But it's not just about hard work. We love to learn too. Our volunteers attend our workshops where they gain knowledge about our native plants and animals. They also build skills to make sure our environment stays healthy and balanced.

So, what's our secret sauce? We blend community spirit, good old-fashioned looking out for each other (kaitiakitanga), and some innovative ways to keep those pesky predators at bay. Together, we're all responsible for making our region thrive.

And it's not just about nature; it's about people too. We're all connected, and by working together, we're creating a better environment for us and our beautiful surroundings. Join us, and be part of something big!
