What is "It takes a village" ?
It takes a Village is a Takapuna North Community Trust initiative to help our community to entertain themselves at home during the current period of social distancing.
The difference between 'It takes a village' and other sites already out there offering ideas, is that the content and ideas are created by you, the community.
If you have a fun idea of how to keep people entertained at home, here's what to do to share it.
Make a video: Plan what you are going to say, create a 'here's one we made earlier' example if it involves something you make and create your video. Email it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Send us an email: If you don't want to, or can't make a video, send us an email with your idea. We will pass the idea to our Creative Youth team and other volunteers who will make a video tutorial and share it as soon as they can. If you are in touch with someone older by phone, ask them for their ideas too and we will try to make a video with their ideas. This might be something like a rhyming game for a preschooler, a great recipe or a game to play with things that everyone would have in the house. There are no bad ideas, just send them through. The only rules are that the activity should be safe to do whilst socially isolating and easy to do with what most people would have in their house already.
We are expecting that lots of people will have brilliant ideas to share, so please be patient if yours isn't shared immediately. We will get to it as soon as we can.
We've shared a video below to give you an idea of what sort of thing you could share.
